Default Store category only showing 6 products

Hello, I wonder if you can help.

The following website www.3dwise.co.uk

The only thing I need to know is how to ensure the products go into the right categories rather than the general 3d products store?

A lot of products in the 3d products section are cameras blu ray players and home cinemas.
None of these are found in their respective headings?

Thanks for your help!

When you go on to say the 3D home cinema category page it only has 6 products.

http://3dwise.co.uk/store/category/3d-home-cinema/

Then when you go on to the main store page it holds more then 6?

http://3dwise.co.uk/Our%203D%20Products%20Store

When you start to go through the pages

Im building links to individual pages so for example there are only 3 blu ray players under that heading but more under 3d products on the later pages. They wouldnt be seen by anyone looking for a blu ray player and they are the cheaper products as well.

Hi,

Your store's main page has more than 6 products in it because it pulls products from all categories on your site.

If you don't want products to appear on the store's main page, you can delete the Product List module from this page: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > STORE FRONT PAGE > Default

Or you can change the Product List settings () and adjust the number of products that appear on that page.

Thanks again for all your help.

Hello, Thanks for the fast response.
I checked analytics and it is unchecked. As i remember having this issue before with the main page. Which your answer did fix.
Although this isn't the case now. As if you go to the following pages like the blue ray players it only shows 3 products?
http://3dwise.co.uk/store/category/3d-blu-ray-players/

And 6 here
http://3dwise.co.uk/store/category/3d-home-cinema

I can supply any log in details you request.

Thanks again for all your help!

Hi,

Your 3D Blu Ray Players category only has 3 products in it in the Factory:
http://factory3.datafeedr.com/feeder...ory?cat=989609

And your 3D Home Cineman category only has 6 products in it in the Factory:
http://factory3.datafeedr.com/feeder...ory?cat=989608

While you have added more products to those categories in the past, you added them individually. The downside to adding them individually (vs. creating a search subscription) is if the product ID changes, they will be removed from your category.

You can read more about the good and bad ways to create a category here: http://www.datafeedr.com/docs/item/158

That's why those categories only have a few products... because the products' IDs changed and therefore were removed from those categories.

That's really good advice. Thank you that would seem the best way to do the categories rather then adding them one by one.

Do you know how do I subscribe to a search via my category pages. For example I have 3d store.
With categories
3d Tvs, So i click on this, then it opens i can only see the option of doing a search then adding them individually. Is there a quick way of subscribing to that it shows up with 100s of products, which is it illustrated with in your last reply on good ways to add products.

Ignore the previous messages. I have managed to get the video working. I have now added the product search successfully.

Thanks for all your help. You can ignore this thread. Thanks

Hello, I have set up all the categories. With the specific search for that category.
I think updated the datafeedr plug in with in tools of wordpress. If you now go on to any of the products in the categories It all shows up as tvs?
I looked in the datafeedr factory and all the corresponding searches are correct.
I then cleared my browser cache then my websites cache and it still shows up incorrectly?
I can't see why this isn't showing up correctly.

My details are as followed if you could take a look, as something isn't right here.

Hi,

Please don't post usernames and passwords in the forums. These forums are semi-public.

As for your categories, I believe everything is correct. The problem is your saved searches are too broad.

For example, your 3D TV Glasses category in the Factory has lots of non-glasses products:
http://factory3.datafeedr.com/feeder...989605&page=10

But you can see that it does contain lots of glasses in that category:
http://3dwise.co.uk/store/category/3...9&name=glasses

Your saved search for that category would be much more accurate like this:

Use the price filter to ensure TVs don't end up in that category and put double quotes around "3D glasses" to match that phrase. I also moved the search to the product name filter instead of any keyword but that might not be necessary.

Eric
