Default How to add copy to a category page?

Hi, Hi I wanted to show a page for each merchant on my site. I understand that Datafeedr does this automatically but I wanted to add a lot of text to the page. Is there a way add more than a snippet of copy to a datafeedr category page?

The first url shows most of what I am trying to achieve but I will be adding more customization such as graphics, etc.

The second url is the one that datafeedr automatically creates.

I am still in the process of setting everything up so it excuse the under construction look.

Store ID: 42771
Website URL: http://www.squaredeal.com
URL to page in question:
1. http://www.squaredeal.com/best-buy-coupon-codes/
2. http://www.squaredeal.com/store/category/best-buy/

Hi,

Welcome to the forums!

This thread discusses different options for doing this. I prefer the method mentioned in post #13.

I think that could work. A couple small questions on the details.

Where exactly would the php code? Is it in the functions.php in the themes appearance menu?

How do I control where the specific text appears on the page?

Where would the text files go? It looks like I would make a new top level directory called "includes" but not sure.

Should the text file include all html formatting?

Hi,

The PHP code would go in a Text module on your Category Page view.

You can control where it appears by where you place the Text module. See more here: http://www.datafeedr.com/videos/?vid...ayout#videotop

They could go in any new directory you want. Putting them in a new directory called "includes" or "articles" would be fine.

Yes, it should include all formatting.

Thanks. I think I got it. I originally thought the php had to embedded in the wordpress theme but realize the text module is in the factory.

Just saw a great video on creating layouts too.

I was wondering if there was a way to change the width of the columns in the Category (or any) View? My design had one wider column for the deals (2/3 of the width) and a narrower column (1/3) for some text.

Thanks again.

Currently this is not possible.
