Default Categories - Alpha Order

Hi,

Ok, so I want to know if on the customer's end, the categories will show up in alpha order.

That's very important so they can easily find the category they want when there's a long list.

Thanks

Hi,

You need to go here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > WIDGETS > Categories > Category list widget > Settings () and choose Sort alphabetically.

Just to say, I find it VERY VERY hard to move the categories around on the back end.

The space in between the categories is so narrow, that if my mouse is off even a little bit, it places the category in another category instead of in between.

It's a lot of hard work.

Can you please fix that?

Thanks

Hi,

If you want the categories to sort alphabetically on your website, there's no need to move them around via the Factory interface.

Default Dragging categories

Hi,

So in another thread I said I had wanted a way to alpha the categories on the back end.

Chris showed me that if I drag them around, I can alphabetize them myself.

While it's very time consuming, we decided to do that, but there's a problem.

The space above each category is so narrow, that when I drag & drop in between 2 different categories, instead of it going in there, it becomes a sub category which is not where it's supposed to go.

Chris has the same problem, so I know it's not just me.

Can u fix that please. It's wasting a lot of my time then having to somehow get it out of the other category & try again & again to get it where it's supposed to go. Time I could be spending doing work that matters.

Thank you

Hi,

What is the reason you are moving them around in the Factory?

Hi,

Like I mentioned above, if you want the categories to display in alphabetical order on your site, there's no reason to move categories around in the Factory. By default, categories on your site will display in alphabetical order regardless of the sorting that exists in the Factory.
