Default Lost My Store

Eric,

I accidentally deleted my page from Wordpress and messed up my site. I added the page back and updated products and settings but now products aren't showing up. I guess I could reinstall WP on my domain and start over. Is there anything I can do to avoid that?

Hi,

What page specifically did you delete?

i had a page that said <no title>. I deleted that one before realizing it was probably the store. I added a page back and titled it Store. I'm only getting the widgets to show up, no products

Hi,

You can probably go to your Page > Trash and restore it from there.

Last question and i'll leave you alone for a while!! Can you take a look at my source code and see how the Title is being displayed? It is duplicating the title. I'm using Yoast so can I assume that Yoast setting will override the basic Title?

I guess it worked. Now my title shows this:

<title>This is the store's front page | Thomas The Train Table | Thomas The Train Table</title>

Still duplicating but less the crazy formatting. I can't figure out where it is getting "This is the store's front page".

Hi,

What is between your <title> tags in your header.php file?

You can change the default message here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > STORE FRONT PAGE > Default > View menu > View <head> Elements

<title><?php
/*
* Print the <title> tag based on what is being viewed.
*/
global $page, $paged;

wp_title( '|', true, 'right' );

// Add the blog name.
bloginfo( 'name' );

// Add the blog description for the home/front page.
$site_description = get_bloginfo( 'description', 'display' );
if ( $site_description && ( is_home() || is_front_page() ) )
echo " | $site_description";

// Add a page number if necessary:
if ( $paged >= 2 || $page >= 2 )
echo ' | ' . sprintf( __( 'Page %s', 'twentyten' ), max( $paged, $page ) );

?></title>

Try changing this:
PHP Code:
bloginfo'name' );
To this:
PHP Code:
// bloginfo( 'name' );
That might help.

Getting there. So I deleted the code from the View <Head> Elements. Then I changed the code in header.php as you suggested. Now I'm down to this:

<title> | Thomas The Train Table</title>

Still have the vertical line and some spaces in front, but getting close!

Hi

You don't need to delete it. You need to modify it. Like this:

HTML Code:
<title>Something every boy will cherish for years and years. | </title>
<meta name="description" content="Describe your store here" />
<meta name="keywords" content="comma,separated,list,of,keywords,about,your,store" />
You should also edit your description and keywords, too.
