Hi,

Thanks! Yes, a very relaxing holiday.

As for the title, that's being controlled by your theme. You can find reference to your site's title between the <title> tag in your theme's header.php file.

Hi Eric,

Is it this bit?

// Get our website's name, description and URL. We use them several times below so lets get them once.
$site_title = get_bloginfo( 'name' );
$site_url = home_url( '/' );
$site_description = get_bloginfo( 'description' );

Do i just delete all of that, or the 'name' bit?

Hi,

No, that's not it. But you should find the $site_title variable that exists between the <title> ... </title> tags and remove it.

Hi,

OK, I see. WooTheme's is using their own function to generate the <title> tag.

You need to ask them how to manipulate the <title> tag on a specific WP Page.

heres there reply. I already have this installed

Regarding title tags, we recommend WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin.

Can you see which options would take it out?

Here's how to override the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin's title tags: /show...5757#post35757

That should fix the issue for you.

Hi Eric,

I dont want to over ride the Yoast SEO

I have found that the canvas theme seems to be controlling my title tags. I have Yoast SEO installed and would like this plugin to control all the seo. How do I disable the theme from adding the title tag. Is this related to the header php file and if so which bit of code do i take out or amend?

The title tag in the home page currently <title>Ride On Surf Shop</title>

When it should be this

<title>Ride On Surf Shop | Wetsuit Reviews | Product Review Comparison</title>

As you can see below yoast is still controlling the other meta tags

<!-- All in One SEO Pack 1.6.15.3 by Michael Torbert of Semper Fi Web Design[-1,-1] -->
<meta name="description" content="Ride on Surf Shop provides wetsuit reviews and reviews about surf products we use. Also find loads of surf equipment such as surfboards, wetsuits, surf clothing at great prices.at great prices." />
<meta name="keywords" content="Surf Shop, Surf Shops, Surfboard, Surfboards, Wetsuit, Wetsuits, Surf Clothing, Surf Equipment, Surf Gear" />
<link rel="canonical" href="http://demo.rideonsurfshop.co.uk/" />

<!-- /all in one seo pack -->

Would i just take out this code in the header.php file in the theme? (Highlighted)

global $woo_options;
?><!DOCTYPE html>
<html <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
<head>
<meta charset="<?php echo esc_attr( get_bloginfo( 'charset' ) ); ?>" />
<title><?php woo_title(); ?></title>

Hi,

Disabling the Yoast plugin as mentioned above will only modify the title tags on store pages. It won't modify anything else therefore you will get the plugin's functionality on the rest of your pages.

Eric
