Default Problems with 'Sale price' view -> not viewing

Store ID: 38503
Website URL: www.fitliving.nl
URL to page in question: www.fitliving.nl/shop

I have 2 questions about the same subject':

1. I have added the sale item view with product details and product list. But it is not displaying the sale icons. How come?

2. How can I add the sale-items as a category? I dont want to add to my WP menu, but as a category within the side category widget. How can I do this?

Hi

1. I'm not sure what sale icon you are expecting... We don't have any sale icons.

2. You could add the link to the top or the bottom of the Category list menu here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > WIDGETS > Categories. Add it just after this:

HTML Code:
[category.list before='<ul>' after='</ul>']
Or just before this:
HTML Code:
[/category.list]
It should look like this: <li><a href="URL_TO_SALE_PAGE">Items on Sale</a></li>

I mean the different price lay out for sale items..
I have added show 'sale price' in the code of the product details view and category view. I also know that some products are on sale. But they are not showing that they are on sale.

Hi

You don't have any items in your store that are on sale. If you did, you would see those items here: http://www.fitliving.nl/shop/search/?onsale=1

This is usually because the merchant has put their products in the data feed without adding the sale price to the data feed.

Oops, sorry about that. It should be one of these:

Beginning of list
HTML Code:
[category.list before='<ul><li><a href="URL_TO_SALE_PAGE">Items on Sale</a></li>' after='</ul>']
End of list
HTML Code:
[category.list before='<ul>' after='<li><a href="URL_TO_SALE_PAGE">Items on Sale</a></li></ul>']

I just did. But now the category is empty!

I also added with this to create a link on the selected category name:

HTML Code:
[category.if active='self']
<li>
<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
[category.repeat]
</li>
[/category.if]

Maybe that caused the problem??

Hi

You added an extra [category.list] tag to the bottom of the list. Your list should look like this:
HTML Code:
[category.list before='<ul>' after='<li><a href="URL_TO_SALE_PAGE">Items on Sale</a></li></ul>']

  [category.if active='self']
    <li>
      <a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
      [category.repeat]
    </li>
  [/category.if]

  [category.if active='child']
    <li>
      <a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
      [category.repeat]
    </li>
  [/category.if]

  [category.if active='parent']
    <li>
      <a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
    </li>
  [/category.if]

  [category.if active='no']
    <li>
      <a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
    </li>
  [/category.if]

[/category.list]
After you use this code, this issue should also be fixed.

I have copied the exact above code within view>widget>category>edit module template ......

And now the categories are still not displayed in my homepage

But once I am in a category, alle categories are displayed.

Each parent category give a 'sale items' child category. Which is not wat I wan. I just want one sale items category.

Also, these child 'items on sale' category show a lot products and non of them display a sale marked price..

Hi

Sorry about that. It was more complicated than I thought. Here's the working code. (The working code is already in the Factory for you. You just need to change the Sale Items page URL.)

HTML Code:
[category.list id='dfparent' before='<ul>' after='<li><a href="URL_TO_SALE_PAGE">Items on Sale</a></li></ul>']

	[category.if active='self']
		<li>
			<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
			[category.list id='dfchild1' before='<ul>' after='</ul>']
				<li>
					<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
					[category.repeat id='dfchild1']
				</li>
			[/category.list]
		</li>
	[/category.if]

	[category.if active='child']
		<li>
			<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
			[category.list id='dfchild2' before='<ul>' after='</ul>']
				<li>
					<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
					[category.repeat id='dfchild2']
				</li>
			[/category.list]
		</li>
	[/category.if]

	[category.if active='parent']
		<li>
			<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
		</li>
	[/category.if]

	[category.if active='no']
		<li>
			<a href="[category.link]" title="[category.name]">[category.name]</a>
		</li>
	[/category.if]

[/category.list]
