Default Can I stop product pages being created?

so my question is....Is it possible to just have a home page and categories? I would just have a single button under each product such as "visit merchant"

I would have no need for a product details page so can I stop them being created and just have categories?

Hi

You can't stop them from being created but you can set up a robots.txt file to block search engines from going there. And if you don't have any links to those pages, normal users shouldn't go there either.

What should we include in the robots.txt to prevent this?

Eric,

I think I asked the wrong question. What I meant to ask was:

I have no need for the product details page and don't want there to be any chance of Google finding the product descriptions, product pages and hitting me with any duplicate content infractions. I use the Google sitemap plugin by Yoast and want to be able to nofollow, noindex this content for the bots.

What directories do I need to set up as nofollow, noindex so the bots don't count this content?

Thanks

I would need to know your site's URL to answer.

Eric
