Default Store Front Page

Hi,

On this particular website, I'd like to set up my store so when someone visits that "store" front page within my website, they will be taken to a particular category. For example, I'd like a "Halloween" front page and a "Christmas" front page and a "Mardi Gras" front page, etc.

I change the header with each holiday and would like to send my customers to the right section of the store each time. Right now, I am setting up the "Christmas" store, but it's under the name "store" rather than a more specific name. If I put all the Christmas content under the generic /store/ how can I change that when the next holiday comes up?

I'm guessing I can do this by assigning a particular URL as the store front page with each changing holiday, but I'm not sure. Can you please point me in the right direction as to how to do this?

Thanks.

Kelly

Could you just create custom pages for each holiday, set up the URL so that it's http://getyourcostumehere.com/holiday-name and then set the season-appropriate page as your store's front page?

Hi, Eric:

I do have separate pages for them, like:
http://getyourcostumehere.com/st-patricks-day-costumes
and
http://getyourcostumehere.com/easter

So, should I just set up each holiday as a separate store?

Thanks.

I guess I'm confused... you seem to have exactly what you want...

Ha. Sorry.

Right now, if I send someone to: http://getyourcostumehere.com/store they will go to a store front page that says "Welcome to our Christmas Costume Store!"

So, how can I organize it so that I can send them to a different store "front page" so to speak. Like the Mardi Gras page, for example?

Is it as simple as embedding the category modules into the already-existing pages I have set up for each holiday and leaving the "store front page" blank (or with a bunch of links to different holidays), rather than having a Christmas greeting on it? Or would I just need to change the text on the store front page with each new holiday?

Hi

Yes, you could simply embed views into your WP pages using shortcodes to make unique holiday landing pages.

Or you could create Custom Views using the views section of the Factory. I've covered a basic example here: http://www.datafeedr.com/videos?vide...rc=yt#videotop

There's not a huge difference between doing either of those methods. I guess just choose whatever you are most comfortable with.

OK, thanks. I'll re-watch that video again and go from there.
