Default Request Question

Hi Eric,
I have had to take off the datafeedr store from my freakfish.co.uk domain because it was damaging my domains performance in Google. I have now placed the store on a separate domain http://www.rideonsurfshop.co.uk/ and my rankings are starting to come back for freakfish.co.uk. It is known after the Panda updates that Google doesnt like store front websites and a lot of affiliates have seen massive drops in traffic.
I still think that Datafeedr is a good platform; i just need to revaluate how i market the website. I think the problem for me is that i had too many products on the site 15k. There wasnt a good balance between affiliate links and unique content for Google. The links over whelmed i think and this is what Google penalised my website for. Even though I wrote a lot of content.
For me to really continue to use datafeedr i need to do the following.
Add custom products and write strong content, descriptions and reviews within them. I will have the customs products page as my main product, not the product from merchants feed. Then in a hidden category have the merchants products and have a comparison sets which appears within my custom product.
What i need to ask is the following.
1. Can i add comparison sets to custom products? Cant see how i would do this?
2. Also is there anyway i can move the products i have in current categories into a hidden category? I have written loads of unique titles, descriptions and i dont want to lose them, or have to copy and paste the old into the new.
3. Remove the price from the custom product.

Peace and thanks for your time

Hi

1. No, that's currently not possible.

2. Yes, just edit your category properties and set them to "hidden" type.

3. Custom products do not require prices so you don't have to add the price.

So as you can see this product here http://www.rideonsurfshop.co.uk/onei...m-wetsuit-2619

This will just have the merchants comparison set, no visit store button and no price becuase it wouldnt need it. This custom product is simply there to host the merchants comparison sets and the content.

Like I mentioned above, this is currently not possible.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Will custme product comparison set inclusion be added in the future?

Also if a comparison set is added and one of the products disappears will the comparison set still appear with the other merchant’s comparisons?

For me i would really need this function to move forward and rank successfully

Also for this question i meant physically move a product from one category to another with losing the content?

Hi

Honestly, I'm not sure when custom products will be available for comparison sets. It will require making substantial changes to the comp set builder.

Moving products from one category is possible by editing the subscription which adds those products into categories. Just save the subscription to a hidden category.
