Default Merchants products still in store

Hi Eric,

I have had enough of one merchnat who provide feeds with products out of stock. I can understand the ood few but this is like 1/3 of all their products.

I have taken the merchant off the store, but their products still show?

Example

Hi

If you added that merchant's products by using the the "add to category" link and not by subscription, you will need to remove the individually added products 1 by 1. That's another downside of using the "add to category" links.

That really sucks. So even if a product is taken off the datafeed by the merchant the product will stay in the store?

If products arent removed when the feed doesnt show the product this is a big issue.

Basically i'm trying to stop products just randomly being placed within the incorrect category, this is why i used the add to category button.

Subscriptions are good but i dont always want all the products to be automatically shown within the category, i would like to choose in my own time which products are shown within the subcription. At the moment i'm fighting fire with fire becuase i'm constantly finding new products in a category which should be there and this takes up alot of my time and i have to keep an eye on things rather than me being in control.

Its very hard to maintain subscriptions when your merchants data isnt 100%

So should i go through the store an remove all add to category products, set up subscriptions and then block the products i dont want? Or will the added products be removed as soon as the feed shows the products are not avaible within the feed?

I'm very concerned that i am wasting so much time.

Can you give me some direction please?

Thanks

The other thing you can do is create 1 search for products from the merchant you want to remove, save the search and choose 'remove these products from shop' when you save it.

Cheers for that.

Can you clarify this? When adding to category If a product is taken off the datafeed by the merchant the product will stay in the store, or will it disappear?

If a merchant removes a product from their inventory (ie. data feed), it will be removed from your store after the next update of their data feed.
