Redirection of Pages = Lost Page Rank!

Is this a common occurance?

I have had a search time in position 1 on google for over a year now, but with the new factory, I have had to redirect it to the new page.
It was a direct link to a product, not a category url, so hence had to be changed.

And now today... gone No where to be seen in google.

Fortunately it wasn't a super converter, but it shows how google doesn't like page redirects!!!

I think it's a matter of waiting for the new page to get the old page's juice. If you are doing a redirect, Google recommends a 301 and that is what we are using. We can only do what they recommend...
