Default Search bar

The search bar on our site is being very picky with getting results. Is there a way to make it search a little broader? If I type "Nike Driver" for instance it comes up with no results. Even though there are plenty of results on the site that have both Nike and Driver in the title. Here's one. http://saveongolf.net/store/nike-vrs...8301477780618/

It appears that it only is searching for Nike and Driver in that sequence. If the words are broken up by another word(s) then it rejects it. Not going to be all that helpful if you have to hit the title exactly for it to come up.

Any way to fix this?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi,

You are searching on the 'product name' field which does not support this type of search. I would suggest searching on the generic 'word' field. So in your search form, use this:

HTML Code:
<input class="search-field" type="text" name="word" id="s" value="<?php echo esc_attr( @$_GET['word'] ); ?>">

Figured it out. It's not perfect but it's better than what I had. Do you suggest a certain way to sort search results using this?

Hi,

Results are sorted by relevance. That's how MySQL returns the results.
