Default Drip settings page to display

Hi,

I just watched the video on Drip Settings. What I don't understand is how to make the posts display on the "blog" page rather than another page. This is the page for the blog posts in the new site that is not "live" yet. http://www.codexhub.com/saveongolf/blog/ . This site is scheduled to be moved over to replace the one there now at http://saveongolf.net .

What I want is the drip to happen on this page. (the "blog" page)I don't see in the video how to set the drip posts to land here as opposed to another page?

Hi,

They will automatically go there if that's the page you've assigned to display blog posts here: WordPress Admin Area > Settings > Reading

in query string setting. If I use "name" , can I use multiple names? If so, how do I separate them.

For instance could I put name= Driver, Irons, Putter, Golf bag

Would that format work?

UPDATED..

Going to use category ID's. Can I use multiple categories to drip? How would I format that. c=123456, 234567, 678908

Is the above correct format?

How long before the first post appears? I added the one category and have it set to the default time frame of 360 and 720. So will it take 6 hours for the first post to show up or is something not working?

Also see above question in case you missed it. THanks.

Hi,

Don't use a space between the the comma and the category IDs.

You have configured your store to drip from category ID 1363214 however that category in your store does not have any products in it.

working on it now. The way I set up my categories I can't have it drip the whole category. I'll have to add each one individually. Can I do that? Right now I've only added the 2014 Hot list clubs. Just Drivers and some fairway woods. Still have irons, wedges, putters etc. to put in and it already looks like this c=1347498,1347502,1347503,1347505,1347507,1347549, 1347550,1347551,1347552,1348609,1348610,1348615,13 48618

Can I add like 40 more?

Can I add more later or does that mess things up?

Can I drip just drivers for a week then switch to fairway woods the following week? Not sure how it works. Is it better to do it this way or put all the categories up at one time even if it means 100 categories?

Thanks!
Ken

Hi,

Try going here WordPress Admin Area > Tools > Datafeedr > Drip and clicking the [Reset Drip] button.

Hey Eric. I just hit reset drip even though one post did show up by this a.m. .However the post doesn't have an image. Is there a setting that I need to set to have it show the image. I don't see any tags etc. either. Doesn't look like the video results. http://saveongolf.net/blog/

Hi,

I see the image here: http://saveongolf.net/callaway-women...-rh-womens-11/

It also has tags there, too.

If you want the image to appear on this page http://saveongolf.net/blog/ then you need to edit your WordPress template responsible for displaying that page and change the_excerpt() to the_content().

Drip images do not appear when a template uses the the_excerpt() function to display a post's content.

Hi,

Yes, it's easy to do. You just change the_excerpt to the_content in the template file responsible for displaying this page http://saveongolf.net/blog/.

The only challenge is determining which of your theme's template files is responsible for displaying the contents of that page.

Eric
