Default Category Images not resizing uniformly

Store ID: 45394
Website URL: www.proyachtcaptain.com

I followed the video tutorial for uniformly setting the image size for categories. I put an image in the first top level category (Electronics & Navigation), and an image in a sub-category (Radar).

Then I set the image height to 100 in the category - view - text template. I then updated everything, and the category images are not resizing to a consistent size.

I didn't want to get too far into this process without making sure it was working ok.

Please advise!

Hi,

That's because your theme's CSS is overriding the HTML code.

Try changing this:
HTML Code:
  <img src="[category.image]" alt="[category.name]" style="float:left;margin:0 10px 10px 0;" height="100" />
To this:
HTML Code:
  <img src="[category.image]" alt="[category.name]" style="float:left;margin:0 10px 10px 0; height: 100px" height="100" />
Then update your store by clicking the [Update Settings Only] button.

That should fix the issue.

Default image categories not resizing uniformly

Eric,

That did not work. In the original thread post, I said that I only input 3 category images. I have completed the whole first category/sub-cats.

Also, do you have any advice for how I can learn html, css, php, etc.

Thanks,

Hi,

That's because the code you added is wrong.

You changed the code to this:

HTML Code:
<img src="[category.image]" alt="[category.name]" style="float:left;margin:0 10px 10px 0;" height: 1 />
It should be changed to this:

HTML Code:
<img src="[category.image]" alt="[category.name]" style="float:left;margin:0 10px 10px 0; height: 100px" height="100" />

The other two codes I placed in the CSS area I believe were for something else. Still need to know where to place this link you sent me?

I'm confused... I didn't provide a link above. I provided <img> tags above.

Hi,

The code you've added is still wrong. You added this:

HTML Code:
<img src="[category.image]" alt="[category.name]" style="float:left;margin:0 10px 10px 0;" height: 100 />
I've updated the code for you. Just click the [Update Settings Only] button and you should be good to go.

Thanks Eric. That Worked. I think the screenshots that I was seeing for your directions were getting a little chopped off. I think I wasn't seeing everything.
