Default share buttons

Is there a way to add share buttons to every detail page? I have share buttons now for the whole of the site, but it doesn't share from the datafeed of course, just the site itself. Would be nice for promotional reasons to share products on twitter and facebook.

Instead of trying to add the code manually for each social media channel I suggest you use a plugin to handle this for you.

Personally I'm using this (paid) plugin: http://goo.gl/HiZbRU

Thanks. It looks like a very good plugin and I am going to get it.

But....is it for wordpress or datafeedr? I want to have the ability to share a product from a detail page, not the whole site. Does this work with datafeedr?

It's for wordpress and it works for Datafeedr pages as well.

I tested it on Datafeedr category and product detail pages.

So I would just drop in a text box and add the code?

Basically you have to add a shortcode in the views where you want the buttons to appear.

The shortcode is generated by the plugin depending on what settings you have chosen.

I paid and downloaded the zip file. I tried to install the plugin and it failed. I have no idea what file within this zipped folder is the one to upload. I tried uploading the whole zipped folder and it failed. When I unzip it I get a ton of individual items/folders which I know I'm not supposed to upload one by one. I can't find a support page for this plugin. Any suggestions?

You should only upload the "easy-social-share-buttons" folder into your plugins folder.

In the zip package there is a folder documentation which contains a documentation.pdf guide.

Is uploading to a plugins folder different than installing a plugin? I'm a little surprised they don't have any instructions how to go about installing this.

In the zip package there's a webupload folder that contains the easy-social-share-buttons.zip package that you can use if you want to install via WP-admin.

As already mentioned there is a folder documentation which contains a documentation.pdf guide. Take a moment to read that guide. It's all explained in there.

Got it open! Thanks. Am I supposed to now generate a short code and add a text module and put it in there wherever I want it to display? I have to believe I'm missing something.

This is my shortcode
[easy-share buttons="facebook,twitter,google,pinterest,mail" counters=0 native="no"]

Yes, that's the right code.

You can add an extra text module or you can add the code to one of your existing modules.

It all depends where you want the buttons to appear.

Just experiment with it until it fits your needs.
