Default General search feature on wordpress site

Creating a site that will mainly have a search field for any product my affiliates sell. As I see if I create a search subscription it may limit my site visitors to a product. The site is NOT a niche site but has a general search function and will require to search by product name, SKU, or MF#.

Should I by pass using datafeer.com for this and only use datafeedr.com as a category product management feature?

Thanks

Looking at the features if datafeedr.com I see you havea search tool but it only searches the store products I have imported into my store in the factory, is that right?

Followup: if that is the case it would be impossible to import every product Amazon and other of my affiliate into my datafeedr factory store within categories, Do affiliates offer an api to search thre products I can place on the site?

Hi,

Right, you can only search products that are already in your store.

It's not really possible to import all Amazon products into your store as their API is so restrictive.

You could import your other merchants' products into your store as long as it doesn't exceed the 100,000 product limit per store.

ok, thanks for such a quick reply.

If that is the case and there is a restriction. would it be better to use th API and pull the data from the database at datafeedr? so that my broad search of all products from all of my affiliates will be search able and I will not be limited with the time to create search subscriptions in the factory and the 100k limit too?

Hi,

Yes, the API is a much better alternative for you.

However, the functionality you are talking about doesn't exist out of the box. You would have to program that.

Eventually that will be a feature we will be adding to our plugin but there's no ETA on that as we have lots of other stuff we're working on.
