Default sort by high to low question

on this page.. http://saveongolf.net/store/category...15&sort=-price

You'll see results sorts high to low. Is there a way to have it sort high to low whether it is a sale price or not? I don't want to just sort sale priced items, but I'd rather have the lowest price being used. Right now it uses the highest retail price only, ignoring the sale price.

Thanks,
ken

Hi,

Try replacing "price" with "sprice".

Ha, it sounds like you joking but I know you aren't. Could you tell me exactly where I go to make that change? I haven't done it in a while. If I figure it out in the meantime I'll come back and let you know! thanks.

Hi,

You need to change this:

PHP Code:
"price"   => "Price (low to high)",

"-price"   => "Price (high to low)"
To this:

PHP Code:
"sprice"   => "Price (low to high)",

"-sprice"   => "Price (high to low)"
Here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > CATEGORY PAGE > Default > Product list module > Theme settings ()

Default Sort takes me back to home page

Store ID: 46039
Website URL: MyLadysCloset.com
URL to page in question: any category page

I set up the sort just like the tutorial at http://www.datafeedr.com/videos/?vid...rc=yt#videotop and any sorts take me back to the home page, but with the search parameter at the end, such as "http://myladyscloset.com/?ppp=48&sort=name". Yes, I checked "allow overrides" but still doesn't work.
I double-checked it but of course I may have missed something. I also made the change from price to sprice as suggested above (and back again) although that's only for sale prices.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Try setting your Permalinks to something other than "Default" here: WordPress Admin Area > Settings > Permalinks.

That worked!
I think quite a few of us leave the default permalink settings when we are first building our stores, and make changes once we get started on getting everything SEO friendly.
Perhaps a comment could be put into the template to let people know to make this change?
Thank you for your help. You guys are great!
Wayne
