Default Tracking Outgoing Clicks

Store ID: 43094
Website URL: Yogadeal.com
URL to page in question: Any that has an outgoing link.

Hi, I am trying to track outgoing clicks using google analytics but it does not seem to be able to track them. I think it it because the links go through a preliminary url before going to the destination. I think this may be called masking or cloaking. I see that all outgoing clicks start with this url (/store/product/buy/) so I thought I would try to track any url that contained this string. But it doesn't seem to work. Maybe because it isn't a real page.

I have also used the "track outgoing links" setting in another popular plugin (Yoast Google Analytics Plugin). But it didn't work for these links.

Just wondering if you had any thoughts on how I might get tracking to work. Other people must be interested in tracking outgoing clicks, I hope.

Hi Ed,

I'm actually not sure. If you are trying to track outgoing links, a link to /store/product/buy/ would not be considered an outgoing link. It would be considered an internal link.

My only suggestion would be to turn off link cloaking.

Hi,

To turn off link cloaking you need to change all occurrences of [product.url direct='0'] to [product.url direct='1'] here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > PRODUCT DETAILS > Default > Product detail module > Theme settings ().
