Default Clarification on the numbers

Hi there,

So I'm still confused by these numbers.

I had to limit the women's pumps to 200 since there are TONS.

This is what it says...

Found 8,838 products | 184 duplicate products excluded | Showing 16 most relevant results

It says 16 records.

So I'm confused, does the consumer have to weed thru 16 results, or 8,838?

And if it's 8,838, what happened to the setting where I chose "limit - 200"?

Same question with the 16. I know there are different sizes, but how many different styles are they seeing? I want them to be able to see 200 different styles.

Thanks

Michelle

Hi,

If it's showing 16 results, that's how many your visitors will see.

If your limit is 200 but only 16 results are returned, only 16 products will be added to your category.

If there aren't 200 styles, you won't be able to get 200 styles into your category.

See & I went to do a search for platform shoes (women's) & it came back with like 30 pages.

I went to limit the search to 200, it brought back ONLY 2 pages & only 62 records which you told me was the amount of products, right?

So this just isn't making sense to me.

If there were that many products before the limit, it should have brought me back exactly 200 products or thereabouts.

Right?

Hi,

This is because first relevant results are returned and then duplicates are removed.

In your search if you don't exclude duplicates you get:

Code:
Found 11,034 products | Showing 200 most relevant results
When you do exclude duplicates you get:

Code:
Found 11,034 products | 138 duplicate products excluded | Showing 62 most relevant results
200 - 138 = 62.

If you want to include more non-duplicated products in your search then you can increase the limit. For example if you increase the limit to 500, then you will get this:

Code:
Found 11,034 products | 374 duplicate products excluded | Showing 126 most relevant results

All of my searches exclude duplicates.

Still not completely understanding.

So you increased your limit to 500 & it only showed 126 results?

Yes.

The search found 11,034 products.
The limit was set to 500 products.
Of those 500 products, 374 duplicate products were excluded.
That leaves you with 126 most relevant results.

500 - 374 = 126.

Ohhh, I think I see now.

See I wanted 200 products AFTER the duplicates have been removed.

So what do I have to do, keep trying until the end result is 200? LOL

Hi,

Currently it's not possible to reverse the filtering order.
