Default sales pages- filters or category pages?

Hi

Store ID: 15603
Website URL: http://www.blackbedroomfurnitureinfo.co.uk/
URL to page in question: http://www.blackbedroomfurnitureinfo...urniture-sales

I have a sales page on my site as above. I have read this thread /showthread.php?t=6211 regarding search box just on the sales page. Although useful I would like to try something a bit different.

I would like to add a filter for chest of drawers, beds, mattresses etc just displayed on the sales page. Is that possible?

Alterntively would it be possible to make a sales page for each category, just showing items on sale?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

It's not possible to have filters and such on your sales page because sales pages use a custom query string.

Yes, you can have a sales page for each category. You can do it manually but that would take a long time. It would be easiest just to set up a filter link which filtered a category's products to just the ones on sale.

You can do this by creating a new Widget, adding a Text module to the Widget and then adding the following code to that Text module:

HTML Code:
<?php if (is_dfr('category')) { ?>
  <!-- Only show on category pages -->
  <a href="[server.url type='fullpage' query='saleprice=1-']">View only on sale</a>
<?php } ?>

Thumbs up

Hi Eric

Thanks for that. I have just done it and it works great! I tweaked the category default view to show sale price if present and it also shows when applying the widget you suggested.

Excellent idea and many thanks!

regards

Andy
