Those should be:

%lt

Also, you should turn on View caching here: The Factory > Your Store > Store menu > Advanced Store Settings > Allow view caching

It might be related to either having random products always appearing in your sidebar or the Facebook widget you have at the bottom of your sidebar.

i have enabled a cache plugin W3 Total Cache and the website is still running very, very slow. I'm at a loss to what to do next. I have a nice website ready for launch but i cant because its as slow as a donkey without any legs.

I have tested on Pindom and the slowest load time was 20 seconds.

What shall i do now?

Have you asked your webhost? It seems the waiting for a response from your server is what is taking so long.

some of the images in my site are 1000 x 1000. How do i reduce the size of images?

It seems that alot of the images coming from datafeedr are the problem with load times. Is there anyway to compress? Loading 1000x1000 isnt right

These are the size of the images the merchants are sending. It's possible that those merchants aren't providing a thumbnail version either.

My only suggestion would be to either link to the images directly from the merchants' websites (to reduce the http requests to your site) or possible contact this user about his plugin: /showthread.php?t=7996

The only possible con might be Google seeing those image hosted elsewhere. I'm really not sure how big of a deal that is.

I really dont want the merchant to host the images as this is bad for many reasons.

This is what the merchant has come back and said

Hope your well and glad to hear a new site is on its way, where are you grabbing the product data from for the site?? Are you using our webgains feed? If so there should be options for the other image sizes available in the other fields of the csv?

It seems that Datafeedr is grabbing the high res versions?

Hi,

Until today product image = thumbnail image for Webgains merchants.

Looks like Webgains now has a new datafeed field that provides thumbnail URLs.

We will update our importing script, run a product update and that should fix this issue for you. I'll update the thread when we know more.

Hi,

Actually, you should delete all of the image files in this folder:

/wp-content/uploads/store/products/thumbnails/

Then the new, smaller images will fill up that directory.

Also, you should go into your Product List modules and change [product.image to [product. thumbnail wherever possible.
