Default auto updates

Hello.
I have some questions about the functionality of auto updates in the wordpress plugin.
I do understand that if I select to update daily in the factory, my wordpress datafeedr tables update daily (if there is any change in the merchant feed).
If that's true, who does the job, the wp cron? If that's true, can it be set at a precise time? And also I would like to receive an email each time the job was run (not only in case of failure), and also I would like to run 2 other scripts right after the job is done. What file should I modify to put my code for running the other 2 scripts?

I would prefer to set up my own cron job form the server to run the store update. In this case, what should I put in my cron? You should have a php script that runs the store update.

Thank you!

Actually, the update runs in any case, no matter if the feed was changed or not.

No, this is implemented internally in the datafeedr plugin.

No, we don't support this at the moment.

At the moment we don't provide any easy to use interface for this. This can be achieved, however, by "hacking" the plugin.

It goes like this: open "datafeedr.php" for editing and locate the line saying "$this->log("bgupdate: DONE");".

Below this line (and before the next line) you can insert your php code, which will be executed upon successful update.

Please note that this code will be overwritten upon the next plugin upgrade.

We currently do not provide any public API for calling plugin functions from outside.

thanks for the reply but I still don't understand what triggers the autoupdate.
what if I don't open the wp admin for days and I don't push the update products (and structure) button... in that case, the product table still updates daily?

Updates are triggered on a per-request basis, that is, when someone (or you) visits your site, the plugin checks if the update timestamp is expired and if yes, starts the update.

Thanks!
