Default sub category question

I am organizing my categories by brand.
They look something like:

home>brand>womens
home>brand>kids
etc.

I find that I am ending up with lots of the home>brand>womens categories and category>women URLs so am wondering if there is some way to change the name for URL purposes but still just have womens show in the category widget.

My URLs would be home>brand>brand womens, etc., but just the >womens would show in the category listing.

I thought if I changed the slug it would help but it didn't.

Thanks in advance!

I thought I solved the problem but I didn't... when I change the slug the URL shoes right but it doesn't direct to the right page, it goes to a search page which means it can't find the URL... help please!
Thank you!!!

I did it with changing the URL settings to cz instead of cs (saw this in another post) but this makes the URL really long.... is there an 'in between' solution of some sort?

It's not really possible. Changing the URL settings is about the only way. You could use %cp, %cs, %ci or %cz.

Also, because you are deal with brands as categories, I should mention this post: /showthread.php?t=3853
