Default Internal Server Error on Amazon searches

Hi,

At the moment I get this message every time I try to do an Amazon Search in the factory:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please try again later.

I think this have been going on for a couple of days? Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,

Karsten

Hi

It must be something to do with your search or API credentials. Can you double check that you have input your Amazon API Settings correctly here: The Factory > Factory menu > Amazon API Settings

My Amazon API settings are correct. The problem has not been there all the time either - I have done amazon searches that worked just fine.

Hi

Can you please send a screenshot of the search you are attempting to perform that generates this error?

Hi

We have noticed some error messages stating "AWS.InvalidAccount", which according to amazon docs means:

Quote:
You will receive this error when you try to use an AwsAccessKeyId in a locale where it is not registered for the Product Advertising API.
In other words, you should use an AccessKey (and not only affiliate ID) which is registered for searches in the UK.

Hi

There's no error on our side and your keys are being transmitted correctly to Amazon (otherwise we'd get other kinds of errors). Can you go to your Amazon account page and check if your API keys are still valid, or create another set of keys?

Hi tcsar757 & karstenm,

We've thoroughly looked into this and here's what we've found:

1. Your access credentials are being passed to Amazon.
2. We've not changed our Amazon code in months.
3. We've not heard that Amazon changed their API code.

The error you are receiving "Your AccessKey Id is not registered for Product Advertising API. Please use the AccessKey Id obtained after registering at https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...i/sign-in.html." is not a Datafeedr error message. It's a message being returned by Amazon.

You can find a little more information about this error here under "AWS.InvalidAccount".

Unfortunately there's not much else we can do as the error is coming from Amazon. I would inquire with Amazon regarding why you would be receiving this message with your current access credentials.

This problem is - as Eric says - related to changes made by Amazon to their API.

I contacted them via the support forum in the following thread: https://forums.aws.amazon.com/messag...ssageID=373305

Contact the Amazon Associates Customer Services Team with the following information:
  • Associate Store ID (ie. MYSITECOM-20 for Amazon.com or MYSITECOM-21 for Amazon.co.uk
  • AWS Access Key ID

They will help you within 3 working days.

I have yet to see this work - as I'm still waiting (1 day in) - but I will be back to confirm when everything is working for me again.

My problem with the Amazon API has finally been sorted

In order to use the Amazon API you must meet the following criteria:
  • Set up an Amazon associates account
  • Set up an Amazon Product Advertisers API account - using the same email address as for your associates account
  • Sign up for Amazon Web Services - and obtain the AWS Keys

Missing out on one or more of these criteria means you'll experience the same problems I have.

I hope this helps those of you experiencing these problems - I'm back to building my store......

Cheers,

Karsten
