Default Using a custom page for product details

Hello,

I was wondering how I might be able to use a custom page template (no header, sidbars, footer...basically just the body) to display the product details.

How would I be able to accomplish this?

Thank you.

Hi

Yes, but it will require some major WP template edits.

1. Create a new custom view (name: Single Product).
2. Add a Product Detail module to the view.
3. Add the necessary HTML to the Product Detail template area (use the snippets)
4. Click the [Update Settings Only] button on your blog.
5. Duplicate your theme's page.php template file
6. Set the "Template Name" to "Blank Page"
7. Remove any calls to get_header, get_footer, get_sidebar, etc...
8. Add the following code to your new template file:
PHP Code:
<?php
$pid
intval($_GET['pid']);
echo
datafeedr_tag('Single Product?p='.$pid);
?>
9. Add a new Page to you Blog. Name it "Blank Page".
10. For that page, under "Template" choose "Blank Page"
11. Now when you load the page in the browser it will display but it must be called like this: YOURSITE.com/blank-page/?pid=128400983330785 (Where 128400983330785 is the product ID)

That worked for me. But modifying WP templates and the like are outside the scope of Datafeedr support. Therefore we can't really offer much more support for creating and modifying new WP template files.

Eric I really appreciate the extra effort.

I finally got what I wanted to do to work using your suggestions and a few tweaks.

Thank you.

Default Adding product name to url

Hey Eric,

I was wondering if there is an easy way to add the product name to the url for my custom page.

Right now it displays as you had indicated:

YOURSITE.com/blank-page/?pid=128400983330785 (Where 128400983330785 is the product ID)

and I was hoping I could display it as:

YOURSITE.com/blank-page/this-is-the-product-name/?pid=128400983330785

Thank you.

Hi

No, this is not possible without making customizations to your .htaccess file.
