Hi

Can you try following the directions I've outlined in post #3 and post #5 in this thread:

http://www.datafeedr.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5326

That should do the trick.

Hi

The most common reason for the MySQL server has gone away error is that the server timed out and closed the connection.

You could ask your host about how to prevent this. It's probably that MySQL times out during the update of your large store.

Hi Eric

Have been in conversation with the hosts and this is what they have come up with

Yes the error "MySQL has gone away" appears if the server closes the MySQL session opened by a script and the script tries to use the closed session to put/retrieve some data into/from a MySQL database. The error "MySQL has gone away" indicates that the logic of your script isn't very good. Please contact developers of your application and ask them to rebuild the script. Shortly the script must work in the following way:

Open the MySQL session and run necessary MySQL queries. Once the queries are executed the opened MySQL session must be closed. If the script runs a few MySQL queries and some delay could appear between the queries then the script must make sure the opened MySQL session remains active. If the session is closed the script must reconnect to the database.

Do not really understand it can you explain or is there anything that can be done.

Regards
Maria

Sorry, I told you the wrong place. What is the value you have for "Download Packet Size:" here: WordPress Admin Area > Tools > Datafeedr > Updates? (It's at the bottom of the page).

Hi

Try setting it to 200 and save that. Then click the [Update Products and Settings] button.
