Adding a Sort Filter to your Category Pages.

To add a sorting filter like the following to your pages, here are the instructions.

1. Go here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > CATEGORY PAGE > Default > Product list module > Click template icon
   
   
   
2. In the snippets section in the left sidebar, expand Tag List > Product Tags
3. In the right column text area, place your cursor where you want the sorting filter to appear.
   
   
   
4. Click the "Sorting Template" link from the left sidebar. This will insert the filter into the textarea.
5. Click "Save changes"
6. Go here: WordPress Admin Area > Tools > Datafeedr
7. Click the [Update Settings Only] button.

Thats Good Eric But why, When I try to Sort out the product and Click on "Go" it takes me to the Home Page ????

Hi

You should turn on Permalinks. That will give you MUCH better results in the search engine and fix the problem.

Eric The Permalinks are On. and set on default

The "Default" setting means that your permalinks are OFF. You should choose one of the other option.

Your links shouldn't look like this: site.com/?page_id=73
They should look like this: site.com/about/

Thanks Eric I tried to Setup the Permalink but my Host Provider do not allow to change the Directory so I cant make any changes in .htaccess file is there any other way aroud to sought this out ?

Hi

The .htaccess file is in the same directory as your wp-config.php file (which you had to modify in order to install wordpress).

I would be really surprised if your host did not allow you to modify the .htaccess that exists within the public space.

Tell them that the .htaccess file you want to modify is in the public space and ask them how to modify that.

If it's still impossible, you should seriously consider changing web host providers as you will be at a disadvantage in the search engines because your URLs are not search engine friendly.

Yes Eric You are right I am with these 1&1 and seriously they are not letting me change anything in the Directory and It appears just Read Only directory and the Guy on the fone clearly said "WE DO NOT LET PEOPLES MAKE CHANGES" Simple.
I am considering changing my Host Now and have to wait up to 7 Days

I think that will be best for you in the long run. If you can't make changes to files, you are going to be seriously limited to what you can do with your site.

Please provide more information.

hey eric sorry...

if you check out my site seatownsportsfans.com you should notice that the filters wont work, they wont filter either the number on page or price low to high high to low , etc

Please make sure you check the Allow override checkbox in the product list module settings
