Default Force Thumbnail Images to Never Get Larger Than Set Size?

Hi,

I've got a particular affiliate program who have their thumbnail images as large as their regular product images. 500x500 for both. I know I can manually set individual thumbnails to be smaller. But, that means the time between when I add their products to my store and I get them customized, I'll have a crazy looking page. (Thinking as my site grows.)

Is there some code I can put in my category page (and store front page!) that will never allow my thumbnails to get larger than a particular size? Or even that they'll always be a set size. I can just pick a size that is the smallest one offered by all my affiliate programs so there is no conflict.

Thanks!

Rebekah

Hi

I don't see any large images in your store.

However, the default settings of Datafeedr make it so large images are scaled down to fit on your page without it looking bad. I don't see any reason why you would need to do extra work.

PS, The point I'm making is that I want the thumbnails to sit inside a particular area in the table cell I created for thumbs and not be allowed to grow outside that width="170" area.

I've tried adding class="fixed" to the cell but it didn't change anything. I've found the following tutorial but it didn't make me any wiser. Totally confused. Please help.

Hi Eric,

I wrote the last post while you were replying. In response, did you look at the link to the page I posted? http://www.faithhomedecor.com/store/category/crowns/

The first image of the crown chandalier is 500x500 instead of a thumb.

Is there a possibility that the default settings of the image sizing have been stripped out by my making my own template? If so, what would I need to add?

This is what I see. Is what you see different?

Oh how sad. I am seeing something different. I am on a Mac using Firefox 13. I've just checked in Safari on my same computer and it looks like your image above. How do we fix this for firefox?

Hi

I see. Try adding the following CSS code to your Custom CSS:

Code:
.thmb img {
    max-width: 170px;
    max-height: 170px;
}
