Default Category and Sub-category Issues

My store ID is 33106. It is a site about birthstones with feeds coming in from various online jewelers. The parent categories are: Rings, Necklaces, Earrings etc...

Under each parent category are the twelve birthstones: Garnet, Amethyst and so on. The problem is when I click on Garnet or any other birthstone under Necklace (or any other parent category other than Rings) it brings up the ring products. I'm guessing because the first instance of Garnet shows up under Rings.

Shouldn't the program see that it is store/necklace/garnet and not store/garnet? Does this make any sense?

It's probably your category URL structure that is causing conflicts.

Now your category page URL structure in Store > URL settings is set to store/category/%cs/ with %cs being the category slug.

Because you have multiple categories with the same name the store category URL (..../store/category/garnet/) is the same for the garnet category under both rings and necklaces.

Try to change in Store > URL settings the category page URL to store/category/%cp/ with %cp being the category path. Then save your settings.

Then click [Update Products and Settings] in WP Datafeedr admin and see if that solves the problem.
