Customizing buy buttons and custom CSS disappears after upgrading to v3?

Are there ways to copy and paste from v1 customized code and buy buttons into v3 without having to re-do the customization again? It's too time consuming to figure out the changes needed between default and my own settings. Also, where and how to retrieve "Welcome to store" parag content that had been typed into previously in v1 to v3?

Appreciate your help.

There's no way to import the changes you made in V1 templates into V3. V1 is template based and is limited. V3 is Views based and is much more extensible.

Then how about those preset options for buttons and templates under Views in v3? Eg. if I want to change those default buttons under "Random products" in Widgets, would I be able to customize my own as in v1? Seems that the options are rather limited in v3.

Of course you have full control over the buttons. You can use your own or style the buttons that appear by default.

It's completely customizable.

So where can I customize those under Views? I can't seem to find the customize portion.

The random product layout can be customized here: The Factory > Your Store > CUSTOM VIEWS > Related Products > Product list module and click the Product list module's template icon.

You can edit the following links to your linking:
HTML Code:

    <a href="[]" title="View details []" class="dfbutton dforange dfmedium">Details</a>
    <a href="[product.url direct='0']" title="Buy []" class="dfbutton dforange dfmedium">Buy</a>

If I want to further style my own buttons design instead of the given defaults, how do I go about doing that? All that has changed since V1. And how about rounded outline boxes for the individual product list? Plus customizing CSS classes such as increasing the price font sizes and bold them? Where to edit the CSS? Pls advise. Thx.

You can style your buttons by using different class names found in the buttons "legend" in the Factory:

For example,

<a href="[]" class="dfbutton dfgreen dflarge dfrounded">Details</a>

would give you a large, green rounded Details button.

Or you can also use the button generator to create your own buttons:

I have tried those in button generator. What I mean was to insert my own custom gifs instead of those found in button generator or legend. I was able to do that in v1.

Of course. Just remove the CSS class code and add a link to an image on your server like this:

HTML Code:

<a href="[]">
        <img src="" alt="Details" />
