Default Update Cannot Complete, Please Try Again?

I have neglected all my shops in the past 2011 partly due to a death in the family and non-interest and part laziness - however, I have maintained my monthly payment and would like to get back at to store building in 2012.

Although, it's possible that this was mentioned on other threads, I haven't scanned the forums. I did a search nothing came up however

I upgraded my recent plugin inside my blog to version: 3.4.3766 but, when I try to update the products and settings, I repeatedly get the following message below. Is there something I should be doing? My general plan is to (1) update plugin (2) get new products and settings I create inside factory. Has that process changed?

Hi

Are you trying to run your updates using IE9? If so, can you try using Firefox to see if that works?

I am using Google Chrome 16.0.912.63 m exclusively, but I will check to see if Firefox will update it .. back in a sec.

Hi Eric.

I do not use Internet Exporer (IE9) btw ... but I did load Firefox and received the same message. It was v7.0.1 Firefox, so I upgraded to the latest v9.0+ Firefox and tried it again.

I received duplicate email error warnings:

This is to inform you that the automatic update on your website (petlvr.com) has failed. Please see the error message(s) below:

ERROR:
-Error (mysql: Duplicate entry 'update_lock' for key 1(1062) [INSERT INTO community_dfr_xopt(skey,sval) VALUES('update_lock', 19863)]),

app/update:139 UPDATE FAILED

Hi

Try going here: WordPress Admin Area > Tools > Datafeedr > Update Log and clicking the [Reset Updates] button. Then, click the [Update Products and Settings] button again.

I reset the updates, and it shows the time started update and I've received at least 15 emails like this (and like before)...

oh - but, that green popup box did show "Update complete" ... despite the emails.

Last update started: 2012-01-04 14:42:35
Last update ended: 2012-01-04 14:44:34

does this mean it's updated and I should ignore the email error warnings?

Probably, at first - but that popup green box mentioned that an update was in progress (even though there was nothing running in the bottom task bar linked) and I definitely did not click it again when I saw the log start/stop times that it took a few minutes and realized that any updates to store would be on your servers and not mine anyway~

But good news - I just updated to v3.3.1 wordpress, and tried the update again and it worked without incident, without interruption and without warnings via email (and it updated much faster too without the error/warning messages)

Hi

You could try resetting your store (which will delete all store data). That can be done on the debug page. Then try re-importing your store. I would make a store backup before you begin, though.

Thanks ... I'll try that - but, I've never backed up my store(s) before ... just MySQL database in general every night. Hopefully I'll figure that out and if not get back to you (and get back to you anyway to see how this goes). If there are more problems, maybe I should just start from scratch once again and rebuild/redesign.
