Default Custom Filters

Eric,

Have got customer filters working fine thanks to your guide but would like to make them a little more advanced if possible. Can you tell me if this is doable.

I am making a website with car parts and I will have a custom filter with different brands on car to narrow down the choices. I would then like to have secondary custom filter with different models; for example, if someone ticks Ford on the custom filter, when the page reloads I would like to have different models of Ford and then maybe a 3rd level filter for the year.

In theory this should be possible shouldn't it by making a view for each manufacturer and then choosing that view/menu to only appear against a set url query which would contain the keyword? Will take a while to do but do you think it is possible to do?

thanks
Carl

Hi Carl

It should be possible but sounds like a bit of work. You'll need to analyze your $_GET values in order to determine what to serve up.

Hi,

Sorry completely forgot about this, got distracted with my seo business. One client is a UK government website and it's the most drawn out and inefficient process ever when they want to change things.

Will be back on this in the coming days, will update
