Default Adding Product Descriptions

HI Eric,
Ok I have had new 200 word descriptions written for each of the product model numbers for my lg-tvs.co.uk site/

Wheres the best place to add this new text so that this comparison set page displays it here:

http://lg-tvs.co.uk/lg-32lv550t-led-...6402065951063/

Also by changing the title Im guessing the path of the URL will be seen neater for example:

http://lg-tvs.co.uk/lg-32lv550t-television ( providing I set the title to "lg 32lv550t television") is this right?

Im just concerned that if I change the master of the set at any time, i.e. because the image is no longer on the feed, then this content wont then be on display will it, and the path will change?

You should add it to your product descriptions in the Factory.

No, not unless that big product description on this page is your category's description.

I mean your product descriptions.

Ok I added the content and new title under the "category properties" then updated datafeedr.

its still the same content though, I think im doing something wrong here arent I?

Basically when you click on the "compare prices" on this page http://lg-tvs.co.uk/lg-led-tv/ and then click on the product 32LV550T I want it to go through teh page with the new content and the title with the correct path ( which is the title.)

You need to put in the new 200 word descriptions written for each of the product in each product's "Description" field. This has nothing to do with Category descriptions. Putting any information related to a product in the Category Properties fields will not help.

HI Rric,
OK managed to place tehcontent wioth teh correct title and path in now:

http://lg-tvs.co.uk/lg-32lv550t-32-i...6402065951063/

Now Im just wondering what to do in terms of SEO and duplicate content.

I could, as you suggest go through all the products in that set and use this content, but wont that create a duplicate content flag?

So should i just use the "master" product which is being displayed and only feature the new content in that?

Also do I have to have the last part of the paths numbers, i.e. is there a way I can just make it:

http://lg-tvs.co.uk/lg-32lv550t-32-inch-led-tv

instead of

http://lg-tvs.co.uk/lg-32lv550t-32-i...6402065951063/

Hi

I think I would go about it differently.

I would create WP pages, insert the new content as the body of the post and then use the shortcode to embed your comparison set.

That way, you can have the URLs you want and you only have 1 product description on the whole site so there is no dup content issues.

hhm yeah you mean the same way I did with best-toy-prices.co.uk?

If thats what you mean then yes I do agree actually, but ive add all the content written for these descriptions now, so that isnt really an option now, as i have no budget to have it all rewritten.

So keeping to plan A, how would you proceed?

Then I would add the new descriptions to the master products.

Hi Eric, Although Ive used the above format in my master descriptions, it still doesn't display it accordingly and wont split it up or display the strong text:

Hi

I see your master product is an Amazon product. Unfortunately, due to Amazon's API Licensing Agreement, Amazon data (other than the ASIN) cannot be transferred from our servers to your server. So, when the Amazon product is requested on your website, the plugin makes a new call to the Amazon API to get the Amazon information, overwriting your custom description.

I would set a different, non-Amazon product as the master product and put your custom description on the new product.

Hi eric,
OK point taken on Amazon products, but this ones master is set to Currys, but the same problem exists:

Hi

You had [product.description] in your Views but when you want to actually render the HTML in your description, you need to use [product.description html='yes'].

I changed this in your Product Detail Default view.
