Default Temp Directory: Directory not found

Store ID: 39957
Website URL: julegavetilkaeresten.dk
URL to page in question:

Hi! I can't setup my directories..
It says Temp Directory: Directory not found no matter what I do.. I have created tmp-directories all over my FTP server right now but none of them will work.
It's the same with backup directories etc.
When I click the "Set up directories" I receive this message:
ERROR:mkdir() [<a href='function.mkdir'>function.mkdir</a>]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 846 is not allowed to access /var/www/tmp owned by uid 505() line=537
ERROR:err_dir_cannot_create(/var/www/tmp)
ERROR:err_dir_cannot_create()
--
var/www/tmp is created manually.. see attached picture, but still an error.
Can you help?

Hi

Did you create this directory /var/www/tmp manually using your FTP program?

Hi,

The problem is that you created it manually. Try deleting that directory and then go to the Directories page. For the Temporary directory, insert "/var/www/tmp" and check the "Create directory if doesn't exist" checkbox. Then click save. That will create the directory with the proper permissions.

All directories deleted.. I still get the same error :-/:
ERROR:mkdir() [<a href='function.mkdir'>function.mkdir</a>]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 846 is not allowed to access / owned by uid 0() line=537
ERROR:err_dir_cannot_create()
