![]() Eric
I need something to post on my home page www.dysoncompare.com or perhaps you have something even better that's customisable in 'views' such as one product from each category, with only the lowest priced one showing (if there is more than one then only one is selected). Also in v.3 do I still need to keep 'All in one SEO pack' switched off for the pages with feeds? Thanks Paul Last edited by cyberil : January 10th, 2011 at 04:42 PM. |

As for AIOSEO, yes, leave it turned off. Eric

I'm having some trouble getting this to work. I've tried various variations with no luck. The good thing is that once I've embedded the code on the home page I do get the text "There are no products currently on sale." showing, so something is working. I've attached some screenshots to help you see what I have done, but basically I've allocated products to the category I've named 'hidden_category_1' which is the child of the 'Home Page' category. See screen shot '1' I've set up as you told me to a new view 'home_category_1' with a Product List module. See screen shots '2,3 & 4' I've also added the following code to the home page: [DFR:home_category_1] I hope that helps. |

![]() Strange... I think the reason is because you've named your category "hidden_category_1" but that is not the slug of the page. Your slug is probably "hidden-category-1".
But to be on the safe side, try using "c=123456" in the custom query field where 123456 is the ID of the category you are targeting. Eric

![]() Hi eric
No it still doesn't work. I used c=001 and different variations. What exactly is the slug? What should the code be on the actual page? Paul |

![]() Hi Paul,
OK, I've set up something in your store. Can you update your store and then paste the following code into your post: [DFR:Homepage Products] and see if you have success? Eric

![]() Hi Eric
Yes that worked - not quite sure what I did wrong. The layout is all wrong on the home page and nothing like the template. I assume my CSS is to blame - I see I can overwrite this setting but with what? Also, the details links produce a 404. Paul |

![]() I forgot one thing. You need to add the word "view" to your View's Custom CSS ID field to fix the formatting.
![]() The reason for the 404 is because you have these products in a hidden category and when you try to get to the hidden category, it denies you access... because it's hidden. But given your current set up, you don't actually have a Datafeedr product detail page so it really doesn't fit into your current set up anyway. My suggestion is to remove the link to the product details page or make the category unhidden... Eric

![]() The [DFR:Custom View Name Here] tag - is that embedded in my theme options (index.php) or in the datafeedr>factory>store front page>product list?
If in the index.php, does it matter where I put it? |

![]() That view "Home Page" doesn't have any modules in it. That's why nothing is appearing on your site. You need to add at least one module to the view before anything will appear.
And be sure to use [DFR:Home Page] and not [DFR:Home-Page] when putting the shortcode into another view or a post. Also the "using views" section of our video tutorials might shed some more light on this issue: http://www.datafeedr.com/videos/ Eric

![]() Here is what I have:
New hidden category named: Home Page Fixed Products - three products added New view named: Home Page How do I get the category into the view and then the view onto the front page? I watched the video but am still confused. Don't know if I am even on the right track anymore. Sorry for all the confusion. |

![]() Hi
I configured your Home Page view correctly. Then added this code to your store's front page text module: [DFR:Home Page] Now after you update your store, everything should be set up. Eric
