Default Embed a category in to a post

Hi, I think i've got mixed up with views and categories.

I've created a category called DriveSanFran and added all the video game products for the game Driver San Fransisco to it.

I want to be able to display all the products in this specific category at the bottom of my post about the game Driver San Fransisco.

Here's the link to show what i have ended up with >> http://gamerspy.co.uk/driver-san-fra...nce=e15d3b3fbc

If you scroll about half way down the post you will see it says:

Store Home Pre Order Games DriverSanFran

So the breadcrumb is there but no products are showing ?

If you click on the breadcrumb link >> Store Home/Pre Order Games/DriverSanFran i don't get any products there either ?

Is it possible to view a category of products in a post or page ?

I managed to find the 'category id' thanks to a previous post. I also followed the embed a comparison set in to a post which i can get to work but not what i need.

Thanks for your time.

I've posted simple instructions here: http://www.datafeedr.com/forums/show...6391#post16391

The only problem with embedding an entire category into a post is that pagination will not work. So, if your category has multiple pages (ie. Page 1 2 3 4 etc...), then those links will not work.

You might also create a new custom view to embed into your post instead of the entire category. That will probably be easier to manage and format.

Thanks Eric, all working now.

I did have 3 pages so only had 10 items showing. Shame about the pagination, hopefully you'll get this working in a future release.

I'll have a play around with custom views and see if i can figure out how to display all products relating to a particular game with pagination.

Thanks again for your excellent support.

Glad you got it working. Unfortunately embedded pagination is not possible. It conflicts too much with WP. If you do get it working, let us know but we have spent a lot of time on that to no avail.

I had the same problem and what I do, is to simply add manual html with links to the correct pages below the DFR embed

e.g.
[DFR:category?c=xxxxx]
Pages: 1 <a href="http://omasgeheimnisse.com/shop16/weinshop/category/rotweine/2/">2</a> <a href="http://omasgeheimnisse.com/shop16/weinshop/category/rotweine/3/">3</a> <a href="http://omasgeheimnisse.com/shop16/weinshop/category/rotweine/4/">next></a>

Maybe not really sophisticated, but it does the job
