Default Buttons instead of text

Store 35251

URL http://www.chinawholesalectronics.co...r-dvd-players/

Is it possible to replace the text links to the sub-categories with a button (sliver or grey)

Many thanks

Hi,

Yes, all you need to do is add a few CSS classes to the hyperlink:

Code:
class="dfbutton dfgray dfmedium"
See examples here: http://www.datafeedr.com/css-buttons/

Hey Eric - how about putting them all in a line instead of vertical

Think it something to do with this css coding but not sure

Code:
.dfbutton {
    border-radius: 0.5em 0.5em 0.5em 0.5em !important;
    box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2) !important;
    cursor: pointer !important;
    display: inline-block !important;
    font: 12px/100% Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif !important;
    margin: 0 2px 4px !important;
    outline: medium none !important;
    padding: 0.4em 1.5em 0.42em !important;
    text-align: center !important;
    text-decoration: none !important;
    text-shadow: 0 1px 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3) !important;
    vertical-align: baseline !important;
    white-space: nowrap !important;

}
Already has display inline so am totally lost here.

Hi,

The vertical alignment of them has nothing to do with the button CSS. It's because your category links are in an HTML list. You will need to remove the ul and li tags from your list to display them horizontally or style your list so it displays horizontally. Here's a tutorial on how to do that latter.

Greetings Eric

Thing I am not sure about is what do I reference the CSS code to is it #dfbutton dfsilver dfmedium or ??

I used this CSS Code but would like you to check it if you are happy to do so..

Code:
##dfbutton dfsilver dfmedium ul
{
list-style-type:none;
margin:0;
padding:0;
overflow:hidden;
}
li
{
float:left;
}

Hi,

You shouldn't be applying any CSS code to the buttons. That's not going to help. You should undo those changes.

You could try changing the following code in your Category list module on your CATEGORY PAGE like this:

Change this:
HTML Code:
[category.list before='<ul>' after='</ul>']
<li>
  <a href="[category.link]" class="dfbutton dfsilver dfmedium" title="[category.name]"><b>[category.name]</b></a>
</li>
[/category.list]
To this:
HTML Code:
[category.list before='' after='']
  <a href="[category.link]" class="dfbutton dfsilver dfmedium" title="[category.name]"><b>[category.name]</b></a>
[/category.list]
Eric
