Default amazon price shows 0.00

There are tons of products in amazon, that are showing price "0.00" even there is a correct price set by amazon.

Example of product IDs
777700000006867
777700000006874
777700000006877

in shop ID 32900

I cannot even exclude these products by setting to pricefilter range to 1, they still show up.
Thanks,
Sylvia

The price filter does only work when a category is chosen.

No it's not working, even when I choose a category.

Example:
Category: apparel
keyword: dirndl
Price: Min 1
Locale: Germany

I still get hundreds of 0.00 results.

We looked further into this problem.

Unfortunately price filters will not always work. Amazon dependencies between categories, parameters and locales are complicated. Different locales have different categories available, and categories differ in how they support search parameters.

Price filters (MinimumPrice, MaximumPrice) in the category "Apparel" for example are only supported for CN, FR and US, and not DE. There seems to be quite a few pitfalls like this, and right now we're not sure if the full support for them (i.e. disabling the price filter when not applicable) is worth implementing.

The only advice I can give right now if you're getting wrong results, try to narrow down your searches via the other search criteria.

Try narrowing down is kind of tough, when a full search result shows 0.00 as a price!
It's not only the filter, it's rather why the results show 0 instead of the price, shown by amazon.

Examples:

dirndl,apparel,germany
out of 968 results, about 90% have a 0.00 price
All have correct pricing on the amazon landing page

I have tried to run the same requests with another plugin and the amazon API seems to transfer the correct pricing.

Example:
http://shop.omasgeheimnisse.com/omasshops/dirndl-test/
top result, ASIN B005CEQI6E shows with price 59.95

vs ASIN B005CEQI6E on datafeedr shows price 0.00

And it is NOT ONLY THE GERMAN MARKET!
Same thing for UK and US!

Example: apparel,Party Dress,UK
http://shop.omasgeheimnisse.com/omas...dress-uk-test/
Top result again: ASIN B004H4RDPK shows 27.99
vs Asin B004H4RDPK on datafeedr 0.00

as well as the US Market:
Example: apparel,Cocktail Dress,US
http://shop.omasgeheimnisse.com/omas...dress-us-test/
Asin B005228Y0Y shows $139.00
vs Asin B005228Y0Y on datafeedr shows 0.00

And by the way, the price filter does not work for any market in apparel!

Locale: US
Category: apparel
keyword: cocktail dress
min price: 1
you still see all 0.00 results.

All other categories are working, from what I have seen, perfectly fine for all markets (except, that if an item is sold out or only available as used, it shows also price 0.00)!

Isnt there a way to fix this bug for the apparel category?
That would be so nice

Thanks,
Sylvia

We refined the way Amazon prices are pulled in from the API.

Nevertheless there are a few things which are outside of our control and you have to be aware about...

- The Amazon API is NOT perfect

The API can contain outdated price information or NO price information at all.

That means it's still possible you get wrong prices or 0.00 prices.

- The Amazon API price fields are NOT used in a consistent way

Nowhere Amazon provides clear guidelines on how they use the different price fields in the API.

By doing a lot of research we tried to "reverse engineer" things but it's certainly not ideal to base our script on.

That means it's still possible we pull in the wrong price fields for certain products.

That's why I suggest....

If you find Amazon products with wrong price info let us know the ASIN number of the product(s).

This way we can verify whether it's the API providing us wrong information or whether it's our script pulling in the wrong price info.

Awesome!
I have tested a bunch of terms which used to show 0.00 pricing and they are all correct now!

Thanks!
