UPDATE FAILED

Hi Eric,

Sometimes it update and others it doesnt? Heres the error message

It also says this when i try and run the update again

Seem i do what is instructed with no joy

Hi

It sounds like your /tmp directory is getting cleared during an update. This will cause the warning that you're getting.

Since your /tmp directory is getting cleared very often, you should probably set up your own temporary directory within your public folder and then enter the full path to that new, writable directory here: WordPress Admin Area > Tools > Datafeedr > Directories > Temporary Directory

Hi

1. Create a new directory on your server. (any name)
2. Make it writable (CHMOD 777)
3. Get the FULL path to that directory. If you don't know, ask your webhost.
4. Input the FULL path here: WordPress Admin Area > Tools > Datafeedr > Directories > Temporary Directory.
5. Save the path.
6. Run the update.

Hi

Your path was incorrect.

You had it set to:
/home/USERNAME/www/surf-product-compare/tmp

It should have been set to:
/home/USERNAME/public_html/surf-product-compare/tmp

Also, the permissions on the directory were wrong.

You had: 755

It's supposed to be: 777

After I made these changes, the update worked.
