Amazon products error

I previously posted about an issue I was having with Amazon products in my shop, and then the issue seemingly randomly stopped. I am now having the same problem. When I click an Amazon affiliate product, I get my page not found error page on my site. For example:

Hi

The product ID for those products have changed and therefore have been removed from your store. Amazon products are unique in that they can be removed from your site even without updating your store.

Thanks Eric. So what is the fix for this situation? How can I fix the product ID, or if the product is not available, how are they removed? Im confused, will I need to continually check all the Amazon products and delete them when their product IDs change? How frequently does that occur?

Hi

There is no fix, per se. You will need to search for the products again and add them again. This is the limitation of the Amazon network. Because of their very restrictive API Licensing Agreement, Amazon products can't be added to your store by a search subscription (ie. the way all other networks' products can be added). Because of this, you have to add products individually and the downside to this is that if the product ID gets changed, it gets removed from your store.

This issue is only related to Amazon. In all the other networks, you can set up a search subscription and products will dynamically move in and out of your categories.

How often Amazon products are removed is not known. This depends on their data (such as product ID or URL) being changed by the merchant.
