Default Custom category widget

Just want to know if this is possible and how.
Basically i am making custom sale item views for each category so that they are seperated for viewers. What i want to do is make a different category widget for just these pages to put on a sale items page with widget context. Being that they arent found by id or slug how can i make a list of those categories to display in a widget? Could i just put a ul into the category list or ?
Thanks for any help

Hi,

I'm not understanding what you want...

Do you mean on your category pages, if there are products on sale in that category, display a widget in the sidebar displaying products from that category which are on sale?

Instead of having 15000 items in my sale items page i am separating them into categories.
snowboards on sale,skis on sale,etc.
I want to be able to make a separate categories widget for just these pages i create to put on a sale items main page so they can search for on sale items by categories i create by id #.
Hope this makes sense.

Hi,

Because you are creating separate pages, you will need to manually make that list of 'category' links doing something like:

<ul>
<li><a href="/store/skis-on-sale/">Skis on Sale</a></li>
</ul>
