Pagelinks and social media

I am trying to create social media link buttons for all products, so when somebody shares the product from the product page the link it creates on social media will show the product picture and short details just like any another website page I have shared.

The problem I have is although the link is correct the picture and link details shown are from the home page. So I could share 100 products but it still looks like I'm sharing the home page.

I have tried copying the product url and pasting into Facebook and it only generates information from the home page and not the product page.

I have used several different plugins, shortcodes and code in views and the social media forum posts on here all without success. I finally give up and hope you can help.

I followed that thread but it didn't work - only shows the homepage as a shared link.

Also if I copy the product url and then paste it into Facebook to share the page it also just shows the homepage as the link and not the product.

Hi,

I think you also need to use something other than "Default" for your WP Permalink settings.

Thanks Eric, sorry I missed the permalink settings. Now working fine.
