What does the Backup function on the WP Datafeedr dashboard do?

Hey,

Just clicked the backup button on the datafeedr dashboard on wordpress. What exactly does that do?

Does it back up my entire store
- Views (and custom views)
- Categories and their structures (and products)
- HTML codes
- Store settings (e.g. URL, custom CSS, etc.)
- Header tags, etc.

If not, how can I do this?

P.S. If the store goes down can I restore everything from the backup as well.

Hi

The backup makes a backup file of all of your store's info.

It might seem redundant because your store already exists in the Factory but it's a quick and easy way to revert back to the way things were if something is wrong in the Factory and you need to take some time to fix it.

Thanks for the quick reply Eric.

Want to make sure I understand correctly. If for example:

1. My whole store gets corrupted for some wierd reason, I can use the backup to restore everything to how it was before the store got corrupted?

2. If I make a change to my store but want to restore it back to how it was when I made the backup, I can use the most recent backup file?

3. If my store gets deleted by accident, I can use the backup to get it back to exactly how it was initially?

Hi

1. Yes, but just your store. Nothing about your blog (posts, pages, comments) gets backed up.

2. Yes.

3. Yes.

But in most cases you would just use the [Update Products and Settings] button because your store in the Factory will probably be configured how you want anyway.
