![]() Hello,
All my category pages show the same meta description as the home page. Despite adding unique category text in the factory I am unable to see a unique meta description for the category pages on the site. I can see the unique titles of the pages though. As I'm using the Yoast Wordpress SEO plugin I have searched the forums and added these two snippets to functions.php: PHP Code:
Thanks. |

I've just disabled the Yoast plugin, removed the above code, and tried with the AIOSEO (pro) plugin. I disabled it on the store homepage. Now, I seen no title on the homepage, and on the category pages I see all the category text I've added to the factory. How do I add 150 characters of meta description text to the categories, and still keep all my full category text that appears on the page? |

![]() Hi,
It's not appearing on your Store's front page because you've deleted all of the <head> elements. You can re-add the following code here: The Factory > Your Store > VIEWS > STORE FRONT PAGE > Default > View menu > View <head> Elements HTML Code:
<title>This is the store's front page | </title> <meta name="description" content="Describe your store here" /> <meta name="keywords" content="comma,separated,list,of,keywords,about,your,store" /> Eric

![]() Hi Eric,
Thank you. You are correct. I had put back the category head elements but not the home page ones. Also, that description limit is a reply you gave me in 2011! (although I think the character limit should be 150, not 60) However, can you clear up the question over the Yoast SEO WP plugin and the AIOSEO plugin? Which is better for our stores: A. WordPress SEO by Yoast (with built in Google Sitemap function) or B. All in One SEO Pack (Pro), combined with Google Sitemaps plugin Seems there are advantages and disadvantages to both. I like the way the Yoast plugin gives an SEO check to ever post and page, and gives tips for improving them. Thanks, Ben |

![]() Hi,
It's really up to you as Datafeedr does not rely on the functionality of either of those plugins. Additionally, Datafeedr produces its own sitemap. You can learn about that here: http://www.datafeedr.com/docs/item/259 Eric
