![]() Hi Eric,
A merchant recently added a description field to the feed which gave a sort of bread crumb of text to place all his products withn the correct categories So you can see here NIXON BASIS T-Shirts Forest Green/Navy, mens > mens-surf-fashion > t-shirts Is there any way datafeedr can draw from this. I am having a nightmare with products going into the wrong categories, or products not showing when they should. If i could use this information, this field, problem solved. |

![]() Hi
That kind of information is stored in tags. You can use tags to filter the products. Eric

![]() Plus here as well they have a category field, can this be used to stop mens stuff going into womens category ect.
Category mens > mens-surf-fashion > t-shirts mens > mens-surf-fashion > t-shirts ladies > ladies-surf-fashion > t-shirts ladies > ladies-surf-fashion > t-shirts ladies > ladies-surf-fashion > t-shirts mens > mens-surf-fashion > t-shirts ladies > ladies-surf-fashion > t-shirts mens > mens-surf-fashion > t-shirts |

![]() Most odd.
I have just added a category. Product keyword =Wetsuits Tag = Mens Then it cant find anything? |

![]() Just click a tag in the left sidebar or below a product's name. That will return a list of products that are tagged with those tags.

![]() I have tested on T Shirts.
It exludes loads of merchants becuase they are using different fields for tags. Such as the feed above. They do not show, even though they have the information in their feed?? I'm confused to how datafeedr draws the tag info? Is it to a set format? |

![]() Tags should be used as guides and filters when no other relevant data exists. This is because there is no format that merchants follow when adding keywords or category information to their feed. We have no control and their is no standard therefore the data is inconsistent.
Why not just do a search like this: ![]()

![]() Even that search doesnt bring up all my merchants products. I have downloaded their datafeed and theres loads of key products in their which dont appear.
Is there anyway you can set DF to use certain fields? |

![]() Can you tell me exactly what you are trying to do? I might be able to help you come up with an alternate way of performing your search.
What products are you looking for exactly?

http://www.shore.co.uk/wetsuits/mens...-back-zip.html For all the search filters i have put in place it doesnt pick this product out as being a mens, winter, wetsuit. Or even a mens wetsuit? This wetsuit shows from them http://www.ph5.freakfish.co.uk/surf-...0200968219976/ Its just making my head hurt why some show and others dont. ![]() |

Also, this is the category information we have received for this merchant: accessories-components boating components sports-equipment-accessories water-sports wetsuits Unfortunately the category information there does not contain gender specific data either. Eric

I think this information is from the network webgains becuase i have other merchants with the exact loose category tags. Even these dont give gender, type of product. accessories-components boating components sports-equipment-accessories water-sports wetsuits I have sent webgains an email to see what they can do their end. |

![]() I think it’s essential that DF uses all columns. The system works very well if there isnt gender and type of product involved. Is there a way you can make datafeedr use all columns for me and other users? Is this the pint of a datafeed to use all data within the file? Thanks for your support as ever. If you could make this happen it would make easy work.
This is webgains reply. Hi Adam, Hope you are well. As long as I am aware the mapping on the system has been done correctly according to merchant categories and matching Webgains category tree. In the feed you will be able to see the category name: Men's and category path: Clothing > Trousers & Shorts > Casual Trousers > Jeans > Men's. Gender and Product name would be in a different data columns. This is how our system applies categories when merchants datafeed is fetched. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you. Victoria Jonikane Account Manager Webgains Ltd |
