![]() Hi
You can't have a product URL redirect to a category page URL... and that's what you are trying to do if you want the product URL to be this: /dev/store/category/lil-rebel/ Eric

Website URL: http://partythemesforbirthday.com/dev Eric, actually it works perfect, all I have to do is go into myphpadmin and change the site link URL No all I have to figure out is how to lock that field after I change the URL so that it does not get updated at the next automatic product update. Website URL: http://partythemesforbirthday.com/dev URL to page in question: Eric using the URL settings is universal. So, even if I can set it to /dev/store/category/lil-rebel/ this is global. but when I get to /dev/store/category/lil-rebel/ the displayed products have to have, at a minimum links pointing to the "Buy" Merchant site. |

Website URL: http://partythemesforbirthday.com/dev URL to page in question: I do not need the product detail pages, that is true, but in the subcategories I would need to replace the detail button (leading to product detail page) with a more detail page button (leading to merchant page) |

![]() I didn't mean to put in /dev/store/category/lil-rebel/ in your URL Settings. That doesn't make sense. You need to use the placeholders such as %cp or %cs.

![]() Eric,
after watching the video I realized that. But right now I am in a quandary anyway and will look for advice where I can find it. I think I might be better off setting this store up like the 1st store, superherowear.com. I have a feeling that by doing this partythemesforbirthday.com site so precise drilling down to the last morsel of information might be to complicated for consumers. Partytheme click 1 enter the website landing page click 2 go to main category 1st birthday, 2nd birthday ….. select a theme click 3 go to subcategory of theme, i.e. cups, plates packs etc select an item click 4 choose a) more detail b) buy if a read through product detail description and choose i) go back and start all over ii) click on buy I am afraid that these are too many clicks and steps and too many chances to loose the customer. If consumer leaves my site without going to merchant I get nothing, Period. on superhero I do it a bit different click 1 enter the website landing page click 2 go to catalog page choose a) I don't like anything go back to landing page or leave b) I like this costume and click on “More Detail” if option a) is chosen all bets are off if option b) is chosen consumer goes to merchant site a cookie is set with my affiliate code that is good for 365 days and maybe consumer becomes a customer and I earn commission. I really would like to have some opinions about this. Michael |

![]() I agree with you! Making a customer dive really far into a store will probably end up generating less sales than if the customer could quickly find what they were looking for.
A few suggestions: You could create a store for each type of theme. So instead of having a Superhero store with Superman, Wonderwoman and Batman, you would have a store (ie. website) for each superhero. Therefore, if a user is looking for batman themed party supplies, they would land on the website batmanpartytheme.com (or something like that) and they would only see exactly what they were interested in. This is a much more targeted niche and probably much easier to promote. Also, you could change your "More Details" button to link straight to the merchant's site so the cookie gets set asap. Just remove the "Buy" button altogether. Eric
