Default Question on Promotional Text

Hello!
I wanted to make sure that I did not miss a feature. I want to show promotional text as part of my comparison sets. Since most merchants don't include this information, I understand that I have to manually enter this info by doing "more info" on the product. However, if I have multiple products, and for example the promotion will change this can become extremely manually intensive. Is there a way to put a promotional text, say on a merchant. I can then pull that info into my comparison set, and the change for the promotion when it changes will only have to be made in one place, vs hundreds?

Thanks for your assistance.

Hi

You can set up a PHP conditional in your comparison set view that will display your info when a specific merchant is being displayed.

So if your comparison set code looks like this:

HTML Code:
<table width="100%">
  [compset.each]
    <tr>
      <td>[product.merchant_logo]</td>
      <td>[product.currency mode='sign'][product.price]</td>
      <td><a href="[product.url]" class="dfbutton dforange dflarge" rel="nofollow">Buy Now</a></td>
    </tr>
  [/compset.each]
</table>
You could do something like this:

HTML Code:
<table width="100%">
  [compset.each]
    <tr>
      <td>
      	[product.merchant_logo]
      	<?php if ($product->merchant_id == 12345) : ?>
      		<br />Free shipping for all Acme products!
      	<?php endif; ?>
      </td>
      <td>[product.currency mode='sign'][product.price]</td>
      <td><a href="[product.url]" class="dfbutton dforange dflarge" rel="nofollow">Buy Now</a></td>
    </tr>
  [/compset.each]
</table>
That would display a special message when the merchant ID is 12345.

You can find merchant IDs by hovering over the merchant's name on this page: http://www.datafeedr.com/networks/

Hi Eric,
Quick question in regards to merchant id. Where would I find the merchant ID for custom merchants/products that I inputted into the system?

Thanks.

Actually never mind. I used merchant (merchant name) to get the custom ones to work.

Thanks.
