Default Still Having Category Issues

Store ID:
Website URL:
URL to page in question: http://thenarrowshoe.com/category/featured-shoes/

Hi Eric,

I am still having issues with my categories. In the back end in the Category Featured Shoes Featured Shoes is the Category and the sub-categories all say Custom with the exception of Women's Flat and Low Heeled Shoes and Women's Mid-Heel and High Heel Shoes. They each say Category. I'm not sure how to fix this or why it's happening all of a sudden.

Can you help me figure out what's going on so that the subcategories can be clicked on?

Thanks!

Hi,

The issue is your menu is a custom menu. You have added those links manually. They were not added automatically.

After you modified your store category structure, those manually added links need to also be updated.

The "Featured Shoes" drop down menu is linking to different parts of your site:

Links to blog categories
Featured Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/category/featured-shoes/
Women’s Flats & Low Heel Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/category/featured-shoes/
Women’s Mid-Heel & High Heel Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/category/featured-shoes/

Links to store categories
Women’s Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/category/womens-shoes/
Women’s Boots & Booties - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/categ...boots-booties/
Women’s Sandals - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/category/womens-sandals/
Men’s Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/category/mens-shoes/
Men’s Casual Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/category/mens-casual/
Men’s Dressy/Office Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/categ...dressy-office/
Girls Shoes - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/category/girls-shoes/
Boys - http://thenarrowshoe.com/store/category/boys-shoes/

If you want all your menu items to link to your store categories, you will need to edit the Featured Shoes, Women’s Flats & Low Heel Shoes and Women’s Mid-Heel & High Heel Shoes links.

Hi,

You need to go here WordPress Admin Area > Appearance > Menus and edit the URLs for your broken links.

Hi Eric,

Trying to fix them and I'm getting this error message:

The given object ID is not that of a menu item.

What does that mean? Also, I have an area to put in the navigation setting but no box over it to add a url.

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm not sure what that means...

Though I do see others with that error.

I'm messing everything up, I realized the issue is that on some of the widgets have the option to put the url in over the navigation label and others don't. May I send you my log in information and have you take a look? Thanks!

Thank you so much. One of these days I'll be able to fix these things on my own. Meanwhile if you have a minute to explain in very basic language for this perpetual newbie what you did, that would be great!

Hi,

Just check out the links on the Menus page. You will see they all point to your store category pages.
