Default Price comparison sets disappearing

Hi,

I'm using Datafeedr to create price comparison sets in the product review posts on my sites. I've just noticed that some of the comparison sets have disappeared - it seems to be the ones where the Amazon product ID has changed.

When I copy and paste the latest ID in to the shortcode, the comparison appears again. One example showed an original product code of 1336700077762703 which is now 777700000070475.

Can you tell me if Amazon is doing some large change, or does this happen every now and again. If so, am I going to have to check all of my Amazon product comparison sets regularly to make sure they are still showing?

Is this something that sometimes happens with other merchants too?

Thanks very much, Stefan

Hi

1336700077762703 is not an Amazon product ID. All Amazon product IDs start with "7777...".

Also, these IDs are not provided by the network or the merchant. These IDs are unique to Datafeedr. This is because many networks do not supply unique IDs for their products.

The IDs that we create are either based on a unique ID that the network provides (if they provided it) or based on the affiliate URL. If either of these things changes, then the ID that we create could also change. But we try as much as possible to keep these IDs from changing.

Weird, I've no idea where those other IDs would have come from other than me copying and pasting from the 'more info' tab, and the comparison set was working.

Thanks for the response, Stefan
