Default CURRENCY CONVERTOR

Website URL: www.shop.jibtest.com

I have a site for UK customers who work in GBP but some great offers come out of the states and offer free-shipping. My site shows prices in 's but the merchants in $'s. Ideally I'd like a conversion to be done so when customers sort by price on my site the products are in the correct order. Is this possible or have I missed some existing setting?

Hi Eric,

What would you suggest to work around this?

If my customer/user searches for a product and finds 2 the same on my site one at 149.99 and one at 129.99 they are likely juts to click on the one at 129.99. BUT, id the one at 149.99 is a US merchant and actually $149.99 not 149.99 then this would actually be the better price for the customer.

What would you do? Ideally I want to retain the US options for my customers/users.

Thanks!

Just a thought, what would happen if the currency default was removed altogether and dragged through the merchants default?

Sorry, just realised, the above would mean I have a mix of $ and in my website, not the greatest to make comparisons. I've noticed some merchants have the option of a UK feed, would it be a case of checking if merchants have UK feeds available?

Personally, I would not have products from multiple countries in the same store. As an online shopper, as soon as I see that a site has products in a different currency, I don't even bother shopping as the shipping costs are going to far out weigh any savings to be found on the website.

If you want to have products from multiple countries, I would have (for example) a US site (site.com) and a UK site (site.co.uk) and a Canadian site (site.ca), etc... Mixing all of those products into 1 store will be confusing for your site's visitors IMO.

Yes, that's a good idea.

I've found a couple of Merchants that have alternative UK feeds. I might look at a US site later down the line on some bigger ticket items where shipping is free. Thanks!
